On March 19, an inaugural meeting for the School of Specialized New Industry of Virtual Reality approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was held in QNU. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Xiahou Jianbing.
In his speech, Xiahou Jianbing introduced the development of the new school.Wang Kejie introduced the main goal of the SME Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in building Schools of Specialized New Industry of Virtual Reality.
Head of School of Maths and Computer Science introduced the construction plan for the School of Specialized New Industry of Virtual Reality. He also offered suggestions along with the construction entities on the future development of the new school in terms of how to take advantage of the outstanding and special majors of QNU, how to integrate the enterprise resource elements, and how to accurately match the resources of the university with the needs of enterprises.
It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched the construction program of “Schools of Specialized New Industry of Virtual Reality” in September 2022. According to the application requirements, the School of Mathematics and Computer Science co-applied for the construction of School of Specialized New Industry of Virtual Reality with enterprises, local small and medium-sized enterprise centers, industrial parks, and industry associations in the field of virtual reality. After nearly half a year of competitive selection,the program has recently been officially approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology among the first batch.
