QNU Won the Third Prize in the Fifth China Seafarer Skills Competition

In the Fifth China Seafarer Skills Competition, Navigation College of Quanzhou Normal University performed well and won the third prize (No.1 in the third prize) of the group competition with a total score of 92 points.

The competitionwas held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang from June 25th to 28th, the theme of which was 'cultivating marine craftsmen and strengthening Chinese transportation.' There were 486 competitors of 43 teams from 13 national and regional shipping enterprises as well as 30 maritime colleges, noticeably including five teams organized by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan seafarer unions. Both seafarer association and international labor union in Singapore, a country along the Belt and Road, sent staff to watch the competition.

It was reported that China Seafarer Skills Competition was a national-level competition organized by Maritime Safety Administration of Ministry of Transport and National Committee of the Chinese Seamen & Construction Workers’ Union. The competition every two years is divided into enterprise group and college group and has held five times successfully until now, known as 'Olympic Games' in the shipping industry.
