At the invitation of University of Sao Paulo (USP) of Brazil, QNU President Qu Guangqing, along with directors of School of Physical Education and School of Resources and Environmental Science, visited Brazil and carried out an educational and cultural exchange program from June 24th to 29th, 2019.
The delegation visited Brazilian Beach Soccer Association and Chinese Consulate General in Rio, Brazil. Eurico Pacifico, the president of Brazilian Beach Soccer Association, had a meeting with the visiting mission, and on behalf of the association expressed an interest in having a cooperation with QNU. He showed his confidence and had a high expectation in QNU becoming the first university in China to have beach soccer games on campus. Qu Guangqing said that the university will soon prepare for the cooperating details and implement the projects so as to realize this cooperation. The two parties then had further discussions on cooperation patterns, planning for a beach soccer stadium, and developing strategies. Qu Guangqing and Eurico then signed the memo for this cooperation. After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to Brazilian Football Confederation, Olympics Center and Football Museum.

During the visit to Chinese Consulate General in Rio, Qu Guangqing expressed an intention to further the cooperation with Brazil in cultural fields such as education and PE, especially football and beach soccer. Counselor Xu and the delegation exchanged views on the promotion of Brazilian beach soccer in China, hoping to provide technical services for the promotion of Brazilian football in China and Quanzhou by building a consulate resource platform, and also wishing that QNU can take the lead and become a model in the promotion of Brazilian football universities. Meanwhile, in-depth exchanges were also held on holding seminars in China concerning Sino-Brazilian sports culture and education.

When in Sao Paulo, the delegation visited University of Sao Paulo. Professor Valmor Tricoli, head of Department of International Affairs, and Emílio Antonio Miranda, President of Sports Administration Center met with the delegation. Qu Guangqing gave a brief introduction of Quanzhou city and QNU, and made in-depth discussions with USP on the details of cooperation projects such as short-term mutual visits between teachers and students, curriculum exchange, etc. After the meeting, the delegation visited the sports center, Sports College and Humanities College (Geography Science Major) for further professional talks.

During this visit, the delegation actively promoted the development and achievements of QNU, further promoted the educational and cultural exchange and cooperation between QNU and Brazil, and brought greetings and wishes to overseas Chinese including elite from Quanzhou and QNU directors. As expected, it completed the mission successfully.
