The 2022 Online Chinese Training Camp for Teachers from Chinese Primary Schools of Malaysia: Maritime Chinese Language & Culture Education · Quanzhou Culture kicked off on Dec. 13. The camp was sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial People’s Government, organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Quanzhou Municipal People’s Government and Quanzhou Normal University, and co-organized by the United Chinese School Teachers’ Association of Malaysia and Quanzhou Municipal Education Bureau. 58 Chinese language teachers from 50 Chinese schools in Malaysia, together with faculty representatives and student representatives from QNU attended the opening ceremony.

The 8-day camp was tailored to provide participants with rich and practical courses concerning Subjects, Cultures and Life Skills in which elements of Minnan culture have been fitted. The courses were both live broadcast and recorded, with teaching assistants and group discussion mode to ensure learning effectiveness. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, our school has held 8 online workshops and thematic camps for over 400 Chinese schools in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, training a total of nearly 1,500 overseas teachers and students, of which three training sessions for Chinese language teachers have been held in collaboration with the United Chinese School Teachers’ Association of Malaysia, obtaining positive feedbacks in the overseas Chinese community.
